How MyMate Works
MyMate is an intuitive and user-friendly app designed to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Whether you’re navigating daily tasks independently, with the assistance of a caregiver, or both, MyMate is here to make your life easier, safer, and more structured. Embrace the freedom and confidence that comes with having a reliable support system at your fingertips.
Step 1: Choose Your Daily Tasks
Start by selecting from 10 essential everyday activities like brushing teeth, taking medication, or getting dressed. These can be customized to match the user’s ability and preferences. Option to add own routines.
Step 2: Follow Step-by-Step Visual Routines
Each task includes visual instructions, images, audio, and progress markers to help users complete it at their own pace — perfect for users with cognitive, visual, or attention challenges.
Step 3: Use Offline – Anytime, Anywhere
MyMate also works offline (except for certain features). All routines and features are stored on your device, so there’s no need for an internet connection to use the app day-to-day.
Step 4: Stay Connected with Caregivers (Optional)
With a basic internet connection, caregivers can update routines remotely and send messages through the built-in secure chat. Users receive updated tasks without needing to do anything.
Step 5: Tap for Help – Emergency Contact Buttons
MyMate includes one-tap emergency buttons for Fire, Ambulance, and Police — designed with large icons and accessibility in mind.
Step 6: Take a Break – Mental Health Matters
Some days are just harder. MyMate allows users to tap “Take a Break Today” — which softens the interface, provides calming suggestions, and pauses routines when needed.
